Research and Other Advancements:
• Lots of research was conducted on latherability, pH scale, scent, appearance, molds
• Coming along in general for company, came up with: title of company, 7th Heaven Soap Company; slogan, “It’s soaperfect.”; and logo, bubbles in cloud formation with title of company and slogan on and under bubbles
o Appearance needs to be a block of soap
ß Make soap in larger mold, then cut to make smaller soaps
ß Has to be one pound of soap
Safety Check on Lab
• Outlet next to the sink is unsafe
• Lab tables should be stationary
• Eyewash station is blocked
• All outlets (on floor) unsafe
• No first aid kit

Safety Update:
• Jacob Crosswhite took safety quiz 16/17
• Went over guidelines and safety for lab with researchers and engineers
o Outlet next to the sink is unsafe
o Lab tables should be stationary
o Eyewash station is blocked
o All outlets (on floor) unsafe
o No first aid kit
• Christina, Aislinn, Bailey, Michael, all received notice slips because they left the lab without QC’s consent
Research and other Advancements:
• Didn’t get into lab until 12:10pm because necessary paper work not filled out in time
• State of the Union went fine, a little bump here and there
• Logo for company will need to be voted on on Friday
o Still need jingle and propaganda
Worker Updates:
• Richard Gill still hasn’t turned in job application
• Engineering team received notice slips because they left without QC consent

Safety Update:
- Everyone who was working in the lab was working at a steady pace
o Research scientists worked on ratios for the soap
- No safety violations
- Clean-up was 7 minutes, fairly quick
Research and Other Advancements:
- To experiment with ratios and different formulas, research scientists tested KOH, coconut oil, and pure lye, all mixed with distilled water
- Final batch ready by Thursday
Worker Updates:
- Aislinn got sick, excused for rest of day
- Jonathan tried to be in control of everything
- Engineering sat on sidelines working on mold ideas
- Lots of talk among research scientists, but not a lot of actual work

Research and Other Advancements:
Balam did stoichiometry on how much materials it takes to make a pound of soap
o 89.52 g lye
o 130.34 g H2O
o 529.99 g coconut oil
o 4 g vanilla
Bailey and Balam both made molds for soap, more likely to use Balam’s, just because it’s larger
1:07 pm we finally mixed the lye (dissolved in the water) and coconut together
1:14 pm mixture is thickening, Balam stared to line with mold with parchment paper
1:27 pm everyone except Dalton, Shyla, Balam are excused
o We start pouring soap into mold
1:34 pm we leave the lab
Worker Updates:
People were very stressed because it was the last day of production

Overall Summary:
We won the competition! The teachers at Inspire lived the plainness yet sassines of the soap. Congrats to all at Seventh Heaven Soap Company!
